We cook a lot of venison in my house, which means we sometimes have a lot of leftover venison.

Fortunately, venison is so versatile! You can include it in nearly any meal for added protein and a unique flavor.

I’ve compiled my favorite ways to use up leftover venison below. You’ll find everything from sandwiches to soups to salads and beyond. You won’t get sick of leftover venison for dinner when you use these tasty and creative recipes!

1. Soup

Soup is the perfect meal to clean out the fridge in a delicious and nourishing way! Ground venison can be added to a variety of soups, like venison hamburger soup or sausage tortellini soup.

You can also make venison meatballs for a take on an Italian wedding soup.

Venison can be substituted into your favorite beef-based soups, like my favorite oxtail pho. And don’t forget to save any bones to make homemade bone broth!

2. Salad

One of my family’s all-time favorite meals is a lettuce salad with steak and homemade french fries on top.

You might be uncertain about french fries on a salad, but I think we can all agree that steak is the perfect protein for a green salad!

If you find yourself with leftover venison steak, add it to a bed of greens with your favorite veggies and salad dressing. You won’t regret it!

Stew is one of my go-to recipes for cozy days at home. It’s the ultimate comfort meal that is also easy to make!

Leftover venison is perfect for homemade venison stew. You can make it from scratch with uncooked venison or use leftover venison steak or roast for a quick-cook stew.

These sandwiches are a tasty entree that pairs with so many of my favorite sides! Serve them with vinegar coleslaw, mac and cheese, or homemade baked beans. You’ll love using venison instead of pork or chicken in these popular sandwiches!

If you have leftover ground venison, you can’t go wrong with venison sloppy joes. This recipe is so simple to make, yet it has an utterly delicious from-scratch sloppy joe sauce.

Toasted sub sandwiches are such a treat that the whole family enjoys! They are also a fantastic way to use leftover venison.

Leftover venison tenderloin can make a delicious steak sandwich, such as a Philly cheesesteak-inspired sub. Steak sandwiches have limitless possibilities for ingredient combinations, so feel free to be creative.

8. Chili

A steaming bowl of chili is the perfect meal for a cold day! It’s also a great way to use up your leftover venison.

Homemade venison chili is loaded with meat, spices, beans, and vegetables for a cozy one-pot meal. Top it with your favorite chili toppings and enjoy!

Stir fry is one of my go-to meals when I need to use up odds and ends in the fridge. You can add any veggies and meat you have on hand, then serve the stir fry with rice or noodles.

Add your leftover venison to stir-fried vegetables and a sauce of your choice to repurpose it in a flavorful, fun way.

Taco night is the perfect night to use up your leftover venison! Venison tacos are a meal the whole family will love and they are so customizable.

You can make venison tacos with ground venison, steak, or any other cut you need to use up. Add your favorite taco toppings and you have an easy meal that repurposes your leftovers.

My kids love venison sliders because they are like miniature burgers and, honestly, so do I!

Sliders are an easy meal to make using leftover venison and you can top them with whatever you have on hand.

I like to use my whole grain dinner rolls instead of Hawaiian rolls for these sliders. Don’t forget the homemade french fries for serving!

Of course, you can always go with venison hamburgers instead. Both are equally delicious!

Pasta is another perfect clean-out-the-fridge meal! You can add any veggies, cheese, or meat you have to a pasta dish and it will probably taste amazing.

When I have leftover ground venison, I like to add it to venison meat sauce pasta for the easiest meal of the week!

Ground venison also makes a delicious meat option for gluten-free zucchini lasagna or regular Dutch oven lasagna. This is a great recipe to make ahead of time and it easily feeds a crowd.

Venison stroganoff is always a great pasta-based venison dish, too! It’s cozy, comforting, and very easy to make.
