Alright, bakers, listen up! We’re making the most adorable and festive treat ever – Oreo Dipped Christmas Cookies! These are SO easy to make; they’re perfect for those nights when you’re short on time but still want to create something special for the holidays.
Plus, they’re no-bake, which means even the littlest bakers can get involved (with a little adult supervision, of course!).
We are in full swing, preparing for Christmas! I made candy cane Christmas fudge yesterday, and now my daughter and I are decorating these dipped Oreos!
I saw this idea scrolling through Pinterest the other day and thought it would be a fun project to do with my daughter, as well as a great little treat to enjoy while we put up Christmas decorations…in a few weeks!
We have always loved making chocolate-dipped pretzels, strawberries, cookies, and more, so this is right up our alley. I hope you enjoy it!

Why you will love this recipe
- These Oreo Cookie Christmas Ornaments are the perfect recipe for a busy holiday season.
- The beauty of these cookies is the customization. We went classic with festive sprinkles, but the possibilities are endless! Mini M&Ms, chopped candy canes, chocolate drizzle.
- These cookies are a fun and easy way to get the whole family involved in holiday baking. Make a batch together and create lasting memories.
Ingredients
- Mega-Stuffed Oreos: I highly suggest using mega-stuffed Oreos for these. Why? Because that extra creamy filling holds up better when you pop in the popsicle stick (trust me, you want that extra filling!). Double-stuff Oreos will work in a pinch, but mega-stuffed is the sweet spot.
- White chocolate: I use baking white chocolate, but if you have white chocolate chips or white chocolate wafers, those will work just as well and melt quicker, I might add!
- Sprinkles: I went with a classic red, green, and white sprinkle mix.
Oreo Dipped Christmas Cookies Recipe
Step 1: Melt the chocolate in a double boiler, then dip a popsicle stick into the chocolate and gently slide it into the Oreo, about halfway in, while holding the sides tightly.
Step 2: Lay the Oreos with the sticks on parchment paper for 10 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden.
Step 3: Dip the Oreos into the chocolate, allow any excess to drip off, and place them back on the parchment paper. Add sprinkles.
Step 4: Set them in the fridge for 15-20 minutes or leave them on the counter to harden before enjoying!
Expert Tips
- While it’s not absolutely necessary, dipping the popsicle stick in melted chocolate before inserting it into the Oreo can provide extra stability and prevent the cookie from slipping off.
- To avoid breaking the Oreo, gently hold its sides while inserting the stick. If the Oreo does happen to come apart, simply press the pieces back together.
- Experiment with different dipping techniques. You can fully dip the Oreo, half-dip it, or create unique patterns by dipping only the edges. Have fun, and let your creativity shine!
Recipe FAQs
Yes, melt the chocolate on medium-low heat, stirring constantly to avoid burning the chocolate.
Depending on the toppings you use, they can last up to 2 weeks in the fridge!
While regular Oreos will work, Mega Stuf Oreos are ideal for this recipe as they provide a sturdier base and a creamier filling.
You can use a variety of decorations, such as sprinkles, crushed candy canes, or mini reeses.
To ensure the sprinkles adhere to the chocolate, dip the Oreo into the melted chocolate, then immediately sprinkle with your desired toppings.
